On 28 November 2025, Wyndham Acmar Klang proudly transformed its Lobby Lounge into a warm, inspiring and lively space as we welcomed the Program Dekad Membaca Kebangsaan 2025, organised in collaboration with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP). This meaningful gathering reflects not only our dedication to promoting a culture of reading, but also our shared commitment with DBP in honouring Malaysia’s literary heritage and strengthening the nation’s intellectual identity.

Embracing Malaysia’s Cultural Tapestry

The event featured a heartfelt speech by Puan Hafiza, our Director of Business Development and Marketing Communication, who expressed sincere appreciation for DBP’s long-standing role in shaping the country’s literary and cultural landscape.
She highlighted the importance of preserving local heritage and reminded us that “setiap etnik memiliki cerita, sejarah dan keindahan tersendiri” — every ethnicity carries its own unique stories, history and beauty, forming the colourful tapestry of Malaysia’s collective identity.

Puan Hafiza also emphasised how traditional art forms such as Dikir Barat, sketsa tradisional, and pantomim represent powerful mediums of expression. These timeless cultural performances continue to connect generations, allowing stories, values and traditions to be shared in ways that resonate deeply with the community.

A Literary Gift for Every Guest

In the true spirit of celebrating literature, DBP has generously provided each of our hotel rooms with a copy of “101 Malay Love Pantuns” by Muhammad Haji Salleh.
This meaningful gesture honours the pantun — described as “khazanah bangsa yang melambangkan kehalusan budi serta ketinggian seni sastera Melayu”. The book allows every guest staying with us to immerse themselves in the charm, rhythm and poetic elegance of this treasured Malay literary form.

By placing this book in every room, we hope to create a moment of reflection and appreciation, where guests from all walks of life can experience the richness of the nation’s cultural heritage.
